学校要switch traditional-bound textbook to eletronic textbook, for the cost of traditional textbooks are increasing, and make study more efficient, including highlightening texts and note taking.
Listening
女生反对，first, it wont save money, it may be broken down, or come up with new features, so the students may have to replace the old version maybe everyyear, which is costly. second, since the electornic device only has a little screen and small keypad, it may not be helpful and easy to conduct if someone’s hands are big.
Task 4
reading：swarm intelligence指的是动物重复一个简单的动作，从而达成一个很复杂的行为behavior.
listening: 用蚂蚁为例，蚂蚁会集体寻找食物food source，在途中会遇到obstacles，例如在树上觅食，他们走到了end of a branch，但是这个branch之间有一个open space一个蚂蚁过不去，所以蚂蚁就抓住branch，然后把他的身体stretch到space中，然后一个个的重复这个动作，最后到达另外一端。
Task 5
两个教授对话：女：schedule conflict—— 一个poetry class，因为学生要考试了，她要给个review section;一个retirement party 两件事都是四点开始。
解决方法：①(男建议)男教授的帮她代课，女的担心可能对于男老师有点tough，因为男老师好久没教课了。
②(女自己建议)先去给学生上课再去party，但可能错过大部分party。
Task 6
city in ancient time 都是small scale，靠近river。原因：有自然障碍，如河流;人们不能住的远离clear water。但是roman 的城市发展的很大。原因使他们用了advanced technology。
①可以跨越自然障碍：building material 好。有concrete。可以建桥横跨wide river 承受很大的负荷。
②可以远离水源：因为有waterway 把水从山上引入城市。
